Alexander Lukashenko presented the first Belarusian laptop “Horizon”


Alexander Lukashenko showed the first Belarusian computer. The device was presented personally by the head of state on September 1 during an open lesson held at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk, informs Interfax.

“I specifically asked that this product be brought to our meeting today – the first computer that our smart people gave me,” Lukashenka said.

The President clarified that the laptop, which he showed to the audience, was created at the Belarusian plant Gorizont.. At the moment, the device is 12% Belarusian, and everything else is foreign, but by the end when this figure is planned to be increased to 30%.

“They were given the task of “staggering” around the world, finding the best of what we cannot create yet (processors, software), and create this computer. To be honest, there are about 12% of Belarusian in it today. By the end of the year will be 30%. But the fact itself is important,” the president said.

The head of state added that domestic production has a huge potential. He also expressed confidence that it would be the most modern laptop that meets world standards, and noted that no country in the world has its own computer.
