AMD Ryzen 7 7700X specs leaked online

The AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, an 8-core Zen 4 processor, has been spotted on the Anandtech forums, further confirming the existence of an upcoming release. This is the first time we’re reviewing a pre-release AMD Ryzen 7000 desktop processor with OPN “100-000000591”. The Ryzen 7 7700X is expected to launch at a lower price than the Ryzen 7 5800X, which retailed for $449 at launch nearly two years ago. Although the main source of the image remains unknown, this is likely a sample for reviewers as they were sent out very recently. Motherboard must be X670E or X670 as B650(E) series won’t launch until October. As you can see from the images, the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X Zen 4 Raphael desktop processor will have a perfectly square shape (45x45mm) but will contain a very thick integrated heat spreader or IHS.

The IHS, which is called “Octopus” internally by the company, has a very interesting design and is solid solder so removing the chip can be a little tricky considering all the capacitors that surround it. For this chip, AMD can use a single Zen 4 CCD as it only offers 8 cores compared to the Ryzen 9 offerings that come with two Zen 4 CCDs. Moving on to the Ryzen 7 family, here we have the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X , 8-core and 16-thread part. AMD is positioning this as a welcome innovation for gamers, and as such, the processor will have a base clock of 4.5GHz and a base clock of 5.4GHz, but with a lower TDP of 105W (142W PPT). The processor will get a 40MB cache pool which consists of 32MB L3 from a single CCD and 8MB L2 from Zen 4 cores.
