Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant reports that Activision may face litigation in connection with the appearance in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Amsterdam Conservatorium Hotel. The building, which actually exists, is presented in a virtual format on the Breenbergh Hotel map in the form of an expensive dilapidated hotel. Moreover, players can meet the specified content both in multiplayer and in one of the missions of the campaign.
The owners of the five-star Conservatorium Hotel are unhappy that the developers have turned it into a battlefield. The hotel management was initially unaware of the location in the game, so they are disappointed by the unwanted involvement. The administration emphasized that it does not support violence, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II in no way reflects the core values of the establishment.
The hotel representatives have not yet filed a lawsuit, but this may happen in the near future. Call of Duty: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
