According to Jazz Corden of Windows Central, Activision is working on a multiplayer brawler featuring Crash Bandicoot and other characters in the series.
During the latest episode of The Xbox Two podcast, he revealed that the game is codenamed Project Lava.
Corden claims to have seen footage from the game about six months ago. It is made in 3D and in this regard is not a clone Smash Bros.but it is difficult for a journalist to describe the project, since he has not seen anything like this before. The closest he could compare the game to is Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare.
The project also bears some resemblance to Bleeding Edgebut with the difference that “Lava” is more focused on achieving goals. The project is not a pure fighting game, although it has characters fighting each other and various abilities..
Corden claims he has access to footage from the game, but won’t release it to the public as it’s from an early alpha build, which could spoil the experience.
Jez also said that the studio working on Project Lava had apparently been redirected earlier to help with development. Call of Duty, but has since returned to her game. He is not aware of the current status of the project. At the same time, the other day the studio Toys for Bobwho made Crash Bandicoot 4, hinted for the forthcoming announcement of their new game. Perhaps it will take place on Gamescom 2022.
