Apple Mac Studio has to wait 10 weeks

Apple’s Mac Studio, which can be configured to work with the M1 Ultra, the company’s fastest dedicated processor to date, is having a hard time reaching consumers. The California giant launched the compact workstation about six months ago, and if you place an order right now, you’ll have to wait up to 10 weeks for the machine to get to your doorstep. Specifically, MacRumors reports that M1 Ultra Mac Studio configurations are currently facing delays of up to 10 weeks, although the Apple-targeted post gave no reason for this. We assume that TSMC is having trouble getting the M1 Ultra to Apple as it also has to fulfill orders for other customers. If customers want a less powerful version of Mac Studio with the M1 Max, the same system-on-a-chip found in the upgraded MacBook Pro models, they’ll have to wait one to two weeks.

If you’re looking for a slightly less powerful M1 Ultra variant with a 48-core GPU instead of a 64-core one, the delivery time is at least seven weeks. A shipping delay that lasts over two and a half months for the top-tier version may indicate that demand for Mac Studio is insanely high. Considering the hardware inside, the Mac Studio is significantly more portable than the competition, and with a wide range of ports, users can also connect a variety of peripherals, including a high-resolution monitor or multiple monitors, to increase their overall workspace. Those who haven’t placed an order for the Mac Studio yet can either be patient or wait for the Apple Mac Pro, which is said to have a more powerful version of the M1 Ultra. According to previously released data, the new Apple Silicon could be made up of two M1 Ultra dies fused together to create a single, unified system-on-a-chip, a process the company likes to call UltraFusion.
