Boring, Familiar and Outdated: Saints Row Reboot Gets the Series’ Lowest Ratings


restart Saints Row began to receive reviews from the press. The game’s rating on OpenCritic is currently 65 pointswhile Metacritic scores by platform range from 60 to 68 points.

At the moment, the new Saints Row is the most underrated part of the series. The result is even worse than the failure Agents of Mayhemwhich at one time had a score of 67 on OpenCritic and between 62 and 73 on Metacritic.

Eurogamer: “Volition’s relaunch of Saints Row won’t blow the world away, but it’s solid and full of surprises.”

Metro GameCentral: “A tragically outdated open-world adventure that has more in common with Goat Simulator than Grand Theft Auto, despite some mildly entertaining mechanics.”

GameSpot: “The Saints Row reboot gets rid of the over the top aspects of its predecessor, but still feels stuck in the past.”

GameRant: “Saints Row has its own charm, but it’s ruined by ugly graphics, poor shooting and storytelling, and an abundance of obnoxious characters.”

VGC: “A below-average open-world game that’s riddled with bugs. Probably not something worth paying for.”

IGN: “Saints Row has no shortage of sharp gunfights, but it’s a very familiar and boring kind of fun sandbox game.”

Saints Row is coming out 23 August.
