Reviewers write that players will find a lot of familiar details in Thymesia. For example, the combat system is reminiscent of a mixture of Sekiro Shadows Die Twice and Bloodborne, and the new bosses are quite complex. Of the minuses, journalists note recurring opponents and a peculiar level design. The plot also leaves much to be desired.

Thymesia’s current average score on Metacritic is 69 out of 100 possible in the PC version. On OpenCritic, where the assessment is similar, the game recommend 37% of reviewers.
