The use of artificial intelligence brought the Russian economy in 2021 more 300 billion rubles, declared Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko during the Army-2022 forum.

The most noticeable increase occurred in the financial sector and in the sector of information and communication technologies – 69 and 55 billion rubles accordingly, and the total contribution to the GDP of Russian organizations using AI technologies amounted to more than 22 trillion rubles. In the current conditions, he noted, it is necessary to strengthen the implementation of applied AI solutions in the real sector and accelerate the digital transformation of priority sectors of the economy.

In addition, the opening of the National Center for Artificial Intelligence under the government will take place in early September.. The project will become a platform for finding effective AI solutions in the areas of business, science and government, and will also expand the opportunities for participants in AI development programs, including research institutes, authorities, technology corporations and developers.


According to the Deputy Prime Minister, many large Russian companies are already actively launching projects using artificial intelligence. In some sectors of the economy, the AI ​​implementation rate reaches 20%, and by 2024 it should be at least 50%.

At the end of July, the Russian government announced the allocation of 575 million rubles for a professional development program for specialists who are engaged in the development of artificial intelligence.
