Former builder and LittleBigPlanet player is new creative director at Media Molecule


Company Sony appointed to Media Molecule a new creative director, whom she lost after recent departure Brand Healy – the second of the four founders of the studio.

Now the creative leader of the team behind LittleBigPlanet, Tearaway and Dreams is John Beachwho moved to this position from the post of lead designer.

Initially, Beach was not a professional game developer and was engaged in construction, but after the success shown in creating user-generated content for LittleBigPlanetwas invited to work in the studio, where he has been working for 14 years since 2009.

“John, for example, is a builder by profession, he was not a video game developer, but his work at LBP turned out to be so good that we decided to invite him [в команду]”, Media Molecule Community Manager Tom Dent told VGC earlier.


On his Twitter page Beach declaredthat he is honored to be the Creative Director of Media Molecule, as such, he will strive to do his best to make the studio and fan community proud of him.. Beach called his predecessor “one of the most incredibly talented people he has ever known.”
