Former head of Sony Interactive Entertainment America Sean Laiden joins China’s Tencent Games


Ex-president Sony Interactive Entertainment America and chairman SIE Worldwide Studios Sean Leiden joined the Chinese company Tencent Games as a strategic advisor, the announcement said.

“I am pleased to announce that I have recently joined Tencent Games as a strategic advisor,” Leiden announced on his LinkedIn page. “In this new role, I look forward to advising, assisting and supporting the Tencent team as they expand their activities and commitment to the industry to which I have dedicated most of my career.”

Leiden added that the industry is now at a turning point in the future of games and interactive entertainment, and he is excited to continue his journey of discovery with Tencent, thanking the company for the opportunity.

Leiden left Sony Interactive Entertainment in September 2019. His place in the leadership of internal studios PlayStation took Hermann Hulstwho previously headed Guerrilla Games.
