November 8 Studio Playground Games will release for Forza Horizon 5 major technical update on PC. The update will expand the use of ray tracing and add support for image scaling technologies to the game NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR 2.0.
Forza Horizon 5 currently only uses ray tracing when viewing cars in Autovista mode. With the upcoming update, the game will introduce new Ultra and Extreme options for ray tracing quality settings, which will add RT reflections of player cars during freeride and racing, as well as reflections of player cars and AI when taking pictures in photo mode.
The ray tracing resolution as shown in the table below will depend on the settings and modes.
The use of extreme quality ray tracing is recommended by the developers on systems that meet the “ideal” specifications outlined below.
In October, NVIDIA released DLSS 3.0, however, Forza Horizon 5 will use older version technology 2.4. So far, the developers have not said anything about plans for the implementation of DLSS 3.0.
Forza Horizon 5 is also available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
