GeForce RTX 40 graphics cards and DLSS 3 technology announced

NVIDIA held a presentation GeForce Beyondwhere it officially announced the fourth generation of its gaming graphics accelerators GeForce RTX.

The new flagship of the line has become RTX 4090. The graphics card is said to be two to four times faster than the RTX 3090 Ti and will be affordable $1,599. The release will take place October 12.

A little later, in November, it will go on sale RTX 4080 in two versions: with 12 or 16 GB of GDDR6X memory. The first will cost buyers $899and the second – $300 more.

Specifications RTX 4090 and RTX 4080:

New video cards work based on the architecture There’s Lovelacewhich provides a significant improvement in ray-traced lighting in games through the use of technology DLSS 3.

According to NVIDIA, the new version of DLSS is capable of quadrupling direct compute rendering performance and will be supported by popular game engines, including Unreal Engine and Unity.

A feature of DLSS 3 will be a new feature called Optical Multi Frame Generation, which generates not just pixels, but completely new frames, thereby providing a significant performance boost. NVIDIA claims that since DLSS frame generation is done as post-processing on the GPU, it can boost frame rates even when the game is hit by CPU power.

DLSS 3 will release on October 12th. TTechnology will only work on RTX 40. Her support has already been declared for 35 games including Microsoft Flight Simulator, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Hitman 3, Atomic Heart, Hogwarts Legacy, Black Myth: Wukong, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl and many more. There is a complete list here.

The presentation also made several gaming announcements. NVIDIA showed RTX Portal Remaster and Racer RTX, a playable RC car tech demo designed to showcase the company’s latest achievements in ray tracing, DLSS and PhysX. Both projects will be released in November.
