Fans of cooperative games from Hazelight Studios may receive news about the studio’s next project in the near future.
Ahead of the release of the Switch version of It Takes Two, Fares gave an interview to VGC, during which he touched a little on his next game and confirmed that he will appear at the December ceremony. The Game Awards.
According to Fares, “good progress” is already being observed in the work on the project. The developer did not go into details of the game itself, but noted that it would be something really cool and unexpected.
“We’ve made good progress. We still have a lot to do, but things are definitely going in the right direction. It’s going to be something pretty damn cool.”
Regarding his attendance at The Game Awards, Fares said that it will be in conjunction with the Game of the Year winner, but hinted that the ceremony could include a first look at his new project.
“Get ready, I’m coming. Trust me… this will blow your fucking mind.”
It Takes Two was released in March 2021. The project collected the most “Game of the Year” awards and sold over 7 million copies in a year and a half. Against the backdrop of sudden success, a film adaptation was launched into development, on which the authors of Sonic the Movie are working.
The game will be released on Switch tomorrow.
