GTA developer accuses Rockstar of blocking videos about prototypes of the game

According to the creator of the original Grand Theft Auto Mother Dailey, Rockstar Games accused him of copyright infringement. One of the founders DMA Design (now Rockstar North), claims that the company “has gone into total bastard mode again, issuing copyright infringement warnings on any GTA video they can find, including two of the prototype videos.”

Dailey believes that Rockstar Games is trying to block all material on the creation of the game, including any old development footage. In videos currently unavailable on YouTube, Daly showed off one of the early builds of GTA, which was created in the mid-90s when DMA Designs was best known for the Lemmings franchise.

It’s unclear what other GTA development video Rockstar blocked. Other GTA developers have not yet made similar complaints.
