HBO: The Last of Us season 2 was planned for 2025, but writers’ strike could delay release


Second season The Last of Us from HBO planned to release in 2025, however, the continuation of the series may come out later if strike AAmerican Screenwriters Guild will drag on.

This was stated in an interview with Deadline by the head of the series at HBO. Francesca Orsi. She noted that while writers continue their fight with studios and streaming services for a fair salary, work on new shows is in limbo.

According to Orsi, they considered issuing Sequel to The Last of Us in 2025but if the strike lasts six to nine months, the project may not be ready by that time.


“We don’t have much to say about [втором сезоне] The Last of Us considering Craig [Мазин] can’t take part in its creation in terms of script or casting right now. But he and Neil [Дракманн] they understand exactly what they are going to do. We’re moving the show from Calgary to Vancouver. All I can say is that it will take a big step forward both in terms of the spectacle associated with the Nutcrackers and the more subtle and complex dynamics between our heroes, Joel, Ellie and others.”

She also said that Mazin and Druckmann already have ideas about third seasonhowever, there is only one season in the works at this stage at the same time, and what will happen next is still unknown to them.

The second season of The Last of Us is expected to be an adaptation of the second game, or at least part of it.
