The long-awaited film adaptation of the shooter BioShockseems to have finally moved on. Deadline sources say that Netflix appointed director of films “Konstantin”, “I Am Legend” and “The Hunger Games” Francis Lawrence as director, and Michael Greenwho worked on Logan and Murder on the Orient Express, will be adapting the script.
In February, Netflix announced a collaboration with video game company Take-Two Interactive and its sister publisher 2K Games to produce a feature-length film based on the iconic BioShock.
It is noted that since then the studio and partners have been in search of those who will lead the development of the project, and the choice was among directors and screenwriters of the first magnitude.
Lawrence is currently filming the Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Snakes and Songbirds, so the script will be adapted and as soon as the director is released, the pre-production stage will begin.
