“I wish things were different”: former Konami employee remembered PT on her 8th birthday

August 12, 2014 at PS Store appeared P.T. Free interactive teaser exclusive to PlayStation 4presented as a development of a certain 7780s Studios. As it turned out later, behind the name were Kojima Productions and Konami.

In honor of the horror’s 8th anniversary, a former Konami employee who worked as a brand manager until 2015 shared some interesting facts from the development on Twitter. Pearl Lai noted that she was directly related to the release of PT and was part of the team that managed the internal studios of the Japanese publisher, including keeping in touch with Sony.

Lai independently discussed technical details with the platform owner.

“Fun fact, since I was the head of Konami’s internal studios at the time, I helped put the product on the digital store with a fake publisher and so on. And I was the one who had to call Sony, ask them to remove the teaser and block the re-upload. Then we had a pretty funny conversation.”

For the girl, the situation was quite difficult, but Sony employees and Konami support helped to cope with it. However, Lei is a shame that everything turned out this way. She would have been happy with a different outcome. Nevertheless, the girl received invaluable experience and is grateful to the company for this.
