Twitter user Renka Schedule noticed that Japanese retailer GEO Online opened on its website the page of the new revision of the PlayStation 5 under the number CFI-1200which was approved by the Japanese authorities in May.
The store indicated the release date of the updated console September 15, 2022which coincides with the previously announced PS5 price increase in Japan.
The latest version of PS5 (CFI-1100) arrived in August 2021. The console is 300 grams lighter with a smaller heatsink and has an updated stand screw that can be screwed in without a screwdriver.
What updates the next revision will bring is still unknown. This may be a minor change as there are rumors of a 6nm slim version of the PS5 being released next year. It is unlikely that Sony will now radically update the console.
