Announced exclusive to PlayStation 5 remake Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was transferred to the development of one of the Eastern European studios Saber Interactivethe journalist said Bloomberg Jason Schreier citing their sources.
Aspyr Media, which was originally responsible for the project, was completely removed from further production, because Sony and Disney disappointed with the progress it has made. Sony will publish the new version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic — she has invested in a remake of financial and wants to get a quality exclusive for the PlayStation 5.
Saber Interactive and Aspyr Media belong to the same holding — Embracer Group. Its representatives assured partners that the transfer of the game to Saber Interactive will not lead to problems and additional delays, since this studio managed to get to know the project well when helping Aspyr Media.
It is also very important for the holding not to lose face and not disappoint its investors. Since the beginning of 2022, the company’s share price has fallen by 28%, and the low ratings of the relaunch of Saints Row became an unpleasant event for her.
Schreier says Star Wars remake will be in development for at least two more years — we will not see him until the fall of 2024, and this is in the best scenario. However, Sony and Disney were optimistic about the change in developers.
