Warner Bros. Discoveryseems to have found her “Kevin Feige” after all. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Dan Lin is in the process of negotiating to take over DC in a company with broad control over both film and television projects.
It is reported that Lin will report directly to the CEO of WB Discovery David Zaslavbypassing many other department heads.
Lin boasts a long history of collaboration with Warner Bros. His track record as an executive producer includes The Lego Movie, It, and Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters. In 2015, he was included in the list of 30 most influential film producers in Hollywood.
According to THR, Lin was backed by former Disney chairman Alan Horne, who helped orchestrate the company’s reorganization that gave Feige so much power in Marvel Studios.
Now DC Films leads Walter Hamada. He was reportedly on the verge of quitting after the cancellation”Batgirl“, but in the end decided to stay, at least until the release “Black Adamwhich premieres on October 21st.
Earlier, Zaslav announced the development of a 10-year plan for the development of the DCEU, focusing on the model of Marvel Studios, and openly stated his desire to find a person in the division whose role would be equivalent to that of Kevin Feige.
