Mortal Kombat 1 will be allowed to play for free before release – applications for a stress test have begun


Warner Bros. Games и NetherRealm Studios started to accept applications for an online stress test of a fighting game Mortal Kombat 1.

The developers clarified that the stress test is not related to the beta testing scheduled for August, which will be available to pre-orderers of the game, and will be carried out solely to test the online infrastructure and identify potential problems in advance of the launch of the project.

Like the beta, the stress test will only take place on consoles. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and registration does not give 100% guarantees to get into it – the number of places is strictly limited, and all players will be selected randomly. The testing regions are North America, Latin America, Brazil and Europe.


Mortal Kombat 1: Online Stress Test will be crossplay free and will offer 1v1 multiplayer and limited singleplayer mode Klassic Towers with opponents controlled by artificial intelligence. The list of characters for the stress test and the timing of its implementation will be revealed later.

The full release of Mortal Kombat 1 will take place September 19, including on Nintendo Switch and PC. The first details of the game can be found Here.
