PlayStation Visual Arts undergoes cuts amid major rework of AAA multiplayer game


Information has emerged that Visual Arts Service Group, a division of Sony Interactive Entertainment, there have been layoffs.

Former Project Coordinator at Visual Arts John Borba published a post on Linkedin in which he said that the studio began restructuring as a result of a large-scale restructuring of a certain multiplayer AAA gameand he was one of those who got laid off.

Borba also noted that the industry is currently going through a “belt-tightening” period, and he found himself in a situation that has affected many. According to him, he liked his work and the projects in which he participated, and also expressed confidence that the players would also appreciate them.


In his position at Visual Arts Borba worked as art outsourcing coordinator on an unannounced AAA project with heavily stylized graphics. His tasks included collaborating with an external studio and a team of artists in various fields.
