Russian subtitles, companion eagle and improved stealth: What we know about Assassin’s Creed Mirage

As part of the presentation Ubisoft Forward yesterday was presented first trailer Assassin’s Creed: Mirage.

The new game in the series will take place in Baghdad twenty years before the events of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and will tell about Basim’s past. According to the developers of Ubisoft Bordeaux, the project will take a modern take on the original gameplay of the early games and focus on classic pillars of the franchise such as stealth, parkour and assassination.

The debut trailer contained no gameplay, showing Basim’s transformation from street thief to master assassin under the guidance of Roshana, an Emmy award-winning Persian assassin from the ancient Order of the Invisibles. Agdashlu city.

At a press briefing, Ubisoft Bordeaux revealed a number of additional details. Like the first parts of the series, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will take place in an urban setting. Baghdad will offer four different areas, but players will be able to get out of it, visiting the fortress of Alamut, which acts as the headquarters of the Unseen.

According to the developers, The game world is designed with both parkour and stealth in mind, so there will be plenty of moves to rooftops and cover, and a new, more detailed detection system will make stealth encounters more informative.. Ubisoft also says that some classic parkour moves will return to the game, including the Corner Swing, and the pace of free running will be faster than in past installments.

The return to the classic template of the series also means a complete rejection of the role structure of the last installments. Mirage is described as a more linear story-driven game. It will include sections with linear mission chains, as well as segments with a choice of many available tasks.

Some of these quests will be what Ubisoft calls “black box missions”, which are basic assassination quests. There are no details about them yet, except that these missions will provide an opportunity to determine the means and the path to destroy the targets.

Although Assassin’s Creed: Mirage returns to its roots, the project will still retain some of the mechanics of the later parts and introduce new ones. For example, the companion eagle will return, the use of which will be useful for determining stealth routes, however, archer enemies will appear that can shoot down the bird in the air. Basim will also gain access to the Assassin’s Focus ability, which will slow down time and allow multiple kills to be made at the same time.

In battles, Basim will be able to use not only melee weapons, but also a different arsenal, including darts, traps and mines. It will also be possible to bring down scaffolding on enemies and perform other similar contextual kills.

Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will go on sale in 2023 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Three editions are planned: a standard edition for $50, an extended edition for $60 with additional content, and a collector’s edition for $150 with a 32cm statuette of Basim, a replica of his brooch, a map, an artbook, a soundtrack and a steelbook.

The game already has pages in Microsoft Store and Epic Games Storeconfirmed the official Russian-language name – Assassin’s Creed: Mirage. Besides, according to information from Ubisoft’s own digital store, the project will be released with a Russian translation of the interface and subtitles.
