TeamGroup Announces World’s Fastest T-Force Z54A PCIe 5.0 Drive

Yesterday, TeamGroup officially unveiled the T-Force Z54A PCIe 5.0 SSD, which certainly leaves even the highest-end SSDs far behind. With sequential read and write speeds of up to 14.2GB/s and 11.5GB/s respectively, the T-Force Z54A is the world’s fastest PCIe 5.0 consumer SSD. True, so far this drive has not gone on sale, so all this is purely theoretical. Unlike other PCIe 5.0 drives that use the Phison PS5026-E26 controller, the T-Force Z54A uses a competing solution – the IG5666 controller from the little-known company InnoGrit. It is worth noting that Project Nighthawk and Project Blackbird drives from ADATA also use the same controller, but in general this solution is extremely rare on the market.

According to TeamGroup, the Innogrit IG5666 controller provides better performance than the Phison PS5026-E26 controller. For example, an insider screenshot shows the T-Force Z54A achieving sequential read speeds of up to 14,365MB/s and write speeds of up to 11,547MB/s. Accordingly, this is noticeably more than any competitor on the market, but the question is how to cool such power. After all, the faster the drive and the faster it writes or reads data, the greater the load on the memory controller, which starts to heat up. So you need to have a good radiator, without which the drive will not survive.
