The Last of Us remake will let hearing-impaired players “feel” dialogue through DualSense tactile feedback

Studio Naughty Dog released a video about the special options for players with disabilities added to the remake The Last of Us: Part I.

One of them will be a feature that will “play” dialogues through the DualSense controller in the form of haptic feedback.. Thus, deaf players will be able to feel the stress in the lines and tactilely understand with what expression the words are pronounced, duplicated by the text on the screen.

On the PlayStation Blog, the developers also posted a long list of accessibility features coming to the remastered PS5 game. Among them are presets focused on vision, hearing and motor activity, as well as detailed control options, visual assistants and amplifiers, motion sickness protection, game difficulty settings, interface options and much more.

The Last of Us: Part I will be released on September 2nd. A PC release will also follow later.
