Ubisoft may make Assassin’s Creed Invictus shareware


On Ubisoft Forward multiplayer was announced Assassin’s Creed. subtitled project Invictus is engaged former development team For Honor and Rainbow Six Siege. The company is going to attract a wide audience by making multiplayer more accessible.

In an interview with an international publication IGN vice president and executive producer Assassin’s Creed Marc-Alexis Cote said that the company is discussing the distribution model of Invictus. In this case, there is a possibility that it will be a shareware game.

It is not entirely clear what the development will eventually result in: will it be a cooperative project, like the multiplayer mode in Assassin’s Creed Unity, or a competitive one, found in older games in the series. However, Ubisoft is considering “the possibility of a clash of characters from different eras”.


At the moment, Invictus doesn’t even have a rough release window. The next game in the series will be Assassin’s Creed Miragewhich will be released in 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Google Stadia, Amazon Luna. The game will cost $50 and offer 15 to 20 hours of gameplay.
